Roots Music Revival

Tori and the band were on the road in Summer 2023 when she suffered an injury to her vocal cords. During the first few weeks of recovery, she also contracted a bad case of COVID. As a result, Tori — who can usually play through anything — lost her voice completely, and had to go through nearly eight months of vocal rehabilitation before officially returning to the stage in March 2024.

Now, she’s back and stronger than ever. In Spring 2024, she and the band presented their latest project: Roots Music Revival. The repertoire draws on tunes from Tori’s first four albums from her Nashville and Chicago days, and reflects a return to her musical beginnings. This is a musical “revival” to be sure, in the sense that the style of music is pure Americana, but it's also a personal revival as Tori remembers and pays tribute to her musical beginnings. These high-energy concerts show off a different side of the band, whose roots and blues sensibilities run deep.

Below are the first live videos from Roots Music Revival, with more to come.

The first live video from the Roots Music Revival concert, “Leaving Side of Love.” This video is a love letter to her fans: in it, Tori tells the audience ”I’ve missed you guys so much these past months.”

Directed and edited by Alexey Stradubanov (RetXot Studio).

The second live video from the Roots Music Revival concert, “Penny on a Rail.” Just like the previous video was love letter to her fans, this one is a thank-you to the incredible musicians that she works with today, and has worked with over the years.

Directed and edited by Alexey Stradubanov (RetXot Studio).

The third live video from the Roots Music Revival concert, “Tall Towers.” Tori and the band wanted to include this particular song in the setlist because, thanks to its inclusion on the official soundtrack of the hit Netflix series Sky Rojo, it’s become one of their most popular songs around the world, but until now they had never performed it live.

Directed and edited by Alexey Stradubanov (RetXot Studio).

Tori Sparks and the band perform their new song “Adam,” live on the program Culturas 2. They officially debuted the song on March 6th, 2024, during a performance for national Spanish television while promoting their Roots Music Revival concert two days later.
